About the Position

 

We are looking for a detail-oriented, results-driven Project Manager to join our growing team. You will start by overseeing a $6M innovation portfolio to support the operations of our Foundational Skills Initiative at the Digital Learning Lab. You will be part of a team that is passionate about building a better Canada and embracing the diversity and talent of Canada’s growing population. You are adaptable, keen to learn new things and ready to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is open to candidates based anywhere in Canada. 

 

You will report to our Director, Digital Learning Lab and work in conjunction with the Foresight and Talent Development team to develop and implement strategies and tactics to ensure the success of our Skills for Success initiative. You will manage contractors on an as-needed basis to support the success of your initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Skills for Success Initiative meets its performance targets
  • Provide input on the strategy for the Foundational Digital Skills Initiative and our approach to essential skill development across Canada
  • Grow and develop the project pipeline in the Foundational Digital Skills Initiative, i.e. through supporting the administration of Calls for Proposals and building new and existing partner relationships
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports and budgets
  • Oversee the portfolio of projects within the Foundational Digital Skills Initiative
  • Manage contractors and third-party relationships, as needed
  • Provide input on overall Project Management processes and building systems to improve project management across the Digital Learning Lab, including through the implementation and management of new systems and digital tools

 

Attributes & Qualifications

  • We are open to people looking for a full-time position or a term based contract position if that is a better fit for your career plan.
  • You are an experienced Project Manager, with at least 5 years of experience, skilled at managing critical, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • You are a self-starter and excellent at managing your time
  • You love numbers, data and going deep into spreadsheets. You get excited about learning new Excel shortcuts and formulas
  • You are fascinated by process and constantly look for ways you can make things more efficient, intuitive and effective
  • You are adept at using tools like Salesforce and Asana
  • You are collaborative and look for ways to work across different departments and teams
  • You are continually learning and improving your craft
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with lots of change
  • You are fluent in English, and it would be awesome if you were fluent in French, too
