About the Position

We are looking for an experienced, inclusive leader to join our team as Manager, Pathways to Digital Jobs Initiative. You will start by overseeing a multimillion-dollar innovation portfolio to support our growing Pathways to Digital Jobs Initiative in the Digital Learning Lab. You will be part of a team that is passionate about building a better Canada and embracing the diversity and talent of Canada’s growing population. You are adaptable, keen to learn new things and ready to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is open to candidates based anywhere in Canada. 


You will report to our Director, Digital Learning Lab and work in conjunction with the Foresight and Talent Development team to develop and implement strategies and tactics to ensure the success of our Pathways to Digital Jobs initiative. You will have one or more direct reports and manage contractors on an as-needed basis to support the success of your portfolio. 


Pathways to Digital Jobs is a strategic pillar within the Digital Learning Lab, the Digital Supercluster’s pan-Canadian centre for Talent & Workforce Development. This pillar is supported through Federal, Provincial and private investment and comprised of three main areas of focus: supporting partners in the completion of skilling cohorts; advancement of rapid skilling system tools, method and standards; and research & content creation related to competency frameworks and skilling pathways. You will oversee all three under the Pathways pillar and contribute to the development of accessible training programs and tools for Canadians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Pathways to Digital Jobs Initiative meets its performance targets
  • Provide input on the strategy for the Pathways to Digital Jobs initiative and use your expertise to guide our overall approach to Talent and Workforce development
  • Grow and develop the project pipeline in the Pathways to Digital Jobs pillar, i.e. through administration of Calls for Proposals and building new and existing partner relationships
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports and budgets
  • Oversee the portfolio of projects within the Pathways to Digital Jobs pillar
  • Manage at least one person, as well as contractors as-needed, such as writers, designers and researchers
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including federal, provincial and corporate partners
  • Manage the development of digital content and assets, with the research and writing support of the Talent Development Analyst

Attributes & Qualifications:

  • You are a proven Project Manager with at least 10 years of experience who can tackle the complexity of large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects 
  • You like to think big and work with purpose. For you, it’s important to see how the things you’re building contribute to a larger vision
  • You have experience or education in Learning & Development, adult learning, curriculum development, skill mapping and competency frameworks, or organizational learning
  • You are tech-savvy, with experience working on tools like Salesforce, Asana, and the Microsoft Office suite
  • You’re a people-leader who wants to engage, develop and empower their direct reports
  • You are collaborative and look for ways to work across different departments and teams
  • You are continually learning and improving your craft
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with lots of change
  • You are fluent in English, and it would be awesome if you were fluent in French, too
